Status: Exempt; Full-time (35-40 hours per week, open to discussing part time interest as well) Compensation: $55,000 – $65,000 per year

The North Portland Soccer Club seeks a Program Manager to oversee day to day operations of our 501(c)3 non-profit. Qualified candidates should have previous non-profit or business management experience, a background in coaching/sports management, basic software data maintenance skills, and be an excellent communicator. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive, positive team experience for youth soccer players and we hope you are too!

This leadership position will play a crucial role in managing our organizations registration, compliance and communications, as well as running our Little Kickers program. This is a full-time salaried position and mostly remote, with 125 hours (annually) being on-site for our Little Kickers program. A key task for this role will be working closely with our board of directors (especially the board president and the treasurer) to ensure our non-profit is compliant with state regulations and our parent association, PYSA (Portland Youth Soccer Association) policies. The successful candidate will be comfortable maintaining a budget, regularly reporting to the board and leading parent coaches in a group setting. This position requires the ability to be available 8 Sundays in the fall and 6 Sundays in the spring, from 11am to 2pm, and also be available for board meetings from 7pm to 9pm, the second Tuesday of each month.


  • Regularly reports/communicates with the board via emails, google docs and board meetings;
  • Works with key board members to complete and submit all required documents and information reports as required by the State of Oregon and Portland Youth Soccer Association;
  • Coordinates all volunteers and recruits new volunteers through communications and outreach, and manages the following program committees:
    • On field (coaching/equipment)
    • Communications / Marketing / Events
    • Little Kickers
  • Maintains the club budget, in conjunction with our treasurer;
  • Heads-up all registration duties, including: managing our database via Sports Connect club management software, selecting teams, creating/updating roster;
  • Manage coaching program, including: coordinates with club/parent coaches throughout each season, monitors SafeSport training and background check completion, coordinates coaching education clinics, and maintaining our overall club membership list with updates;
  • Ensures that equipment is inventoried, stored and ordered prior to each season, including inventory and ordering of Little Kickers shirts prior to each season. Maintain the storage space for all equipment and ownership of our gear exchange boxes;
  • Develops and maintains relationships with club vendors, such as our uniform partner, Tursi Soccer to confirm jersey availability and delivery times, in advance, each season;
  • Present equipment quotes, vendor change proposals, and budget questions to the board of directors;
  • Little Kickers management tasks: Coordinates with all registered players/families via bulk emails with all information needed for successful Sunday games and responds to individual parent emails if questions arise. Maintains field/venue relationship at our sponsoring High School, brings/sets-up equipment on the field, takes-down and stores equipment/shirt bins until the following Sunday. Seasonally conducts shirt/jersey inventory count and ordering. Directs any and all Little Kickers volunteers/student coaches and acts as the facilitating lead coach for multiple parents in a group setting each Little Kicker Sunday;
  • Communicates with all club members via bulk emails thru Sports Connect. Works with website and marketing contractor/volunteer to direct updates to our club website, create news articles, update flyers for registration, and verify marketing materials are delivered on-time;
  • Meets with the PYSA president once a year and communicates with PYSA, as needed;
  • Manages scholarships.

  • If using a vehicle for agency use, must possess a current driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and maintain vehicle insurance coverage of a minimum of $100,000/$300,000 personal auto liability coverage;
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends (Sundays are required during the Spring and Fall seasons);
  • This job requires an ability to lift and move soccer equipment (up to 50 pounds);
