About OYSA:
Founded in 1974, the Oregon Youth Soccer Association is a non-profit youth organization that administers, supports & grows soccer across the State of Oregon. Our mission is “To Foster an environment that promotes the physical, mental and emotional development of Oregon’s youth through the sport of soccer”.
Job Description:
The Executive Director shall be responsible for the activities required to support and sustain the mission and vision as well as the goals and objectives of the Oregon Youth Soccer’s strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
Competencies:
- Lead and Influence OYSA staff in execution of daily duties and operations of organization
- Support and build cross-functional communication within the OYSA office, OYSA Board of Directors and stakeholder and across OYSA Member Club matrix
- Deliver Results: Maintain close relationships with OYSA Board of Directors and Member Clubs
- Build strong relationships, foster a culture of excellence and service
- Foster engagement and lead a culture of care through intentional and employee centric development
- Recruiting and retaining top talent: Utilize strong communication, attention to detail and organization skills to effectively on-board and train new staff
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with other State Associations
- Seek out opportunities for community outreach and membership growth
- Establish a culture of care, implement and maintain policies and systems that encourage management transparency
- Strong business and nonprofit acumen to navigate and maintain sound financial practices that conform with all applicable regulations, guidelines and laws
- Strong Financial acumen and ability to maintain and manage a multi-year budget
- Execute the vision and mission as developed by the OYSA Board and organization
What you bring to the field:
- Bachelor Degree and 5 years of working experience in Non-Profit sports organization or in lieu of Bachelor degree and 5 years working experience, 10 years
of progressive work experience in organizational leadership in a youth soccer organization and or relevant non-profit - Proven ability to recruit to retain staff at all levels
- Create personalized training plans, leveraging courses and tools provided through US Soccer resources and external partners that support employee development.
- Strong working knowledge formulating budgets and maintaining generally accepted accounting principles
- Requires substantial knowledge of US Soccer, US Youth Soccer, and Oregon Youth Soccer programming
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and adjust quickly to a changing environment
- Bilingual is a plus, but not a requirement
