Kenyan Team to Play Two Matches
CARE, the Atlanta-based humanitarian organization fighting global poverty, is partnering with Nike and the Mathare Youth Sports Association (MYSA) of Nairobi to bring a soccer team of Kenyan girls to the US to meet and play against local girls soccer clubs. The Kenyan team has already played in Atlanta and Los Angeles and will play at Nike¹s world headquarter campus the evenings of April 29 and 30. ....Read more here.
A Call for Unity on U11's
Oregon Youth Soccer’s U11 Competitive Fall League will be 8v8 this season, rather than the traditional 11v11 format of the past. This has created some controversy and a few clubs have responded by announcing their intention of running their own U11 competitive league. National Youth License
Oregon Youth Soccer Association is hosting a National Youth License Course, June 23-28 at Parkrose Middle School in Portland. This is an outstanding opportunity for any coach who wishes to become an instructor for the National Youth Modules or who simply wants to obtain an increased understanding of how to coach young players. Background Disclosure Changes
There is a new Background Disclosure process that applies to registrations for the 2008-2009 Seasonal year. Click here, to read the memorandum describing the changes. If you are a coach or other team administrator who needs a printed member pass for the new seasonal year, contact your club registrar for the URL to your club's registration page and submit your disclosure as part of registering for your team role. If you need to complete a background check for any other purpose within OYSA, click here to submit a disclosure.
